Hi there. I am wondering if anyone has found any good Quiverfull books that
would be for a child. I think it would be great to have a book geared toward
the quiverfull mind set. Or even a book where there are large families in it.

Two books that I know of that feature large families are:

"The Cuddlers" (4 or 5 kids who like to join mom and dad in the family bed
at night, one by one!) and "The Seven Silly Eaters" (7 kids who each want something different for
dinner, maybe a good book or maybe not! Cute, but you may not want them
getting any ideas!!)

There's also, "Cheaper by the Dozen" but that's geared to older kids.
(Maybe 7 or 8 and up, as a read aloud, depending on the attention span of
the child.)

Books that feature more than two children are so rare that I want to find
all that I can.

For those looking for books featuring a large family, I can highly recommend
the "McBroom" series, which our library carries. They are wonderful books
featuring the McBroom family, and they go by names like "McBroom's Zoo" and the like.
Can't remember who writes them, but I loved them as a child and my children have gotten a
kick out of them too. The man McBroom has eleven children and, when there is a need,
calls them to his side accordingly: "WillJillHesterChesterPeterPollyTimTomMaryLarry and
Little Clarenda!" They are lots of fun to read aloud, especially when you can call
out those names smoothly, LOL!

I don't think anyone has mentioned yet:

_Too Many Chickens_ by Mary Pride about a greedy farmyard pig who convinces
the chickens not to have so many children so he has more grain for himself
and Mrs. Pinfeather who has many chicks and finds they are barely enough!

Five Little Monkeys With Nothing to Do... and the other Five Little Monkey
books. Really fun picture book stories about a family of five mischievous
monkeys and their harried, but much loved and loving mom.

Five Little Peppers and How They Grew and the other Five Little Peppers
books Old fashioned, good hard work and sacrificing for each other.

One of a Kind Family about an orthodox jewish family of 5 girls. Very
loving big family stuff, good insight into modern judaism, probably ought to
be explained by parents.

Little Britches, Man of the Family, and MaryEmma and Company by Ralph Moody.
These are great stories about a large family that copes through the loss of
the father. Wonderful tales, lots of fun, lots of laughs and lots of
lessons. Best read aloud though, as some of the side characters need a few
words bleeped and some of the things the children did may need some
cautionary remarks. These are autographical and so, true! The other books
in the series are about Ralph on his own and need more parental input.

Several books by Cynthia Rylant, like When the Relatives Came, are all about
big families and extended families in the Appalachians.

The Pathway Readers have *lots* of positive stories about life in a large
family. One particularly memorable one is about a girl who begins to think
her big family is too much work, til they are all gone away on a trip...

The Miller books, like Wisdom with the Millers, and Prudence with the
Millers, all have lots of good stories involving big families.

Hope that helps! I keep thinking of more:-)
